Tipsy Tails Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into Tipsy Tails Restaurant, you’re immediately enveloped by a gentle seaside rhythm — a relaxed pace where the melodious background chatter blends effortlessly with the occasional creak of fishing boats moored nearby. Nestled in the heart of Alma, this is a place where the charm of a working harbour quietly informs the experience, inviting you to slow down and soak in the surroundings. Whether you settle inside amid the casual warmth or choose a seat on the shaded patio overlooking the ebb and flow of the water, there’s an undeniable sense of connection to the tides and local life.
The atmosphere here strikes a balance between approachable and special; it’s the kind of spot where the servers greet you like neighbours sharing a treasured recipe, making room for both locals and visitors to feel instantly at ease. Conversations ebb and flow with the movement of the day, punctuated by the subtle aromas of fresh sea air and hearty seafood dishes cooling just enough to savor.
Food at Tipsy Tails unfolds like a well-loved story, one that taps into the coastal bounty with familiar yet thoughtfully crafted flavors. Imagine biting into a lobster roll whose richness carries the briny sweetness of the ocean, or sharing crisp fish tacos that speak to the day’s catch, while washing it down with a local craft beer or a cocktail brightened by unexpected twists. Small touches—a serving of their distinctive street corn, or a bowl of seafood chowder brimming with generous, tender bits straight from nearby waters—nudge each visit toward a kind of joyous discovery that stays with you beyond the meal.
Its charm lies not just in the food but in the backdrop: the quiet theatre of fishing boats coming and going, the changing light over the harbour, and the way each dish carries the imprint of place and people. Tipsy Tails feels like an invitation to pause, share stories, and create simple, unscripted memories by the sea.

We loved everything about Tipsy Tails! It has such a great vibe with very welcoming servers. We were quickly sat on the patio along the railing which overlooks the fishing harbour. With our own eyes we literally watched the water levels drop. We enjoyed a local pint or two and took in the views. The boujee fries are amazing!! As was the lobster roll. We are already planning a trip out East again next Summer and Tipsy Tails will for sure be a spot we visit again while in Alma.

Stopped in for lunch. Had the seafood chowder, was very tasty. Good portion and lots of seafood. Other people with me had lobster rolls and very happy with portion and taste. Nice menu with some good options. Very friendly and efficient staff. We sat inside but they have a cool patio. Would visit again next time I am in the area.

We love Tipsy Tails and make a special visit at least once a year for a seaside lunch. The patio is especially nice with an awning for shade and closeup views of the fishing boats that bring fish, lobster and shellfish fresh to your plate. Lobster roll for me and haddock fish and chips for husband with chilled Pinot Grigio and a local craft beer. One of these days we will try one of their enticing desserts. Highly recommend!

Great food great service. Jeremy our server was really friendly and welcoming. The Chowder was full of seafood and the perfect portion size. Very flavourful. It was nice sitting on the patio as well. Thank you!

On our vacation stopped in the Town -Alma- to have lunch - some seafood, asked a few locals where to get good lobster and they directed us here, we had lobster and scallops, all was good, yummy, cold beer, biker friendly also. service was great and the view on the patio was nice, made for an enjoyable afternoon

A lot of the really delicious meals I’ve had were in places that were either too sterile or pretentious. Tipsy Tails is the best of both worlds… flavourful, beautifully presented food, and the atmosphere is incredible! Honestly, not much tops eating a lobster roll and street corn while looking out at the lobster boats bobbing on the wharf. We also tried the Tipsy Burger and the chowder, two thumbs up! Alma is a gorgeous town, and Tipsy Tails can’t be missed if you’re in this part of the world. Pro tip - the street corn spice available in the gift shop is also amazing on other veggies like potatoes and even raw fruit like mango :)
